Who
is BloodClod?
Thank
you for your interest in knowing a little more about who I am.
As you probably
have guessed, my mother did not anticipate my interest in RC monster
trucks and name me BloodClod. My real name is Mark Lim and I am
born and bred in Singapore.
Some
General Info
I'm now into my late twenties and I graduated from the National
University of Singapore with a BA degree with honours in Philosophy
in 1999. My other major was the English language and I also dabbled
in some psychology and social work courses.
I used to work
in an IT company but now I'm in one that specializes in mobile communications.
What do I do? I'm a project manager - which basically means that
I take the blame if a project fails, so I better make sure that
it doesnt! <grin>
It's a challenging
job but the downside is that it sometimes leaves me little time
for my RC hobby.
In time I will
enroll in a seminary to pursue my goal of serving God as a full
time minister.
My other hobbies
include playing the guitar, drawing, metalwork, building Gundam
models, collecting transformers (those cool toys from the cartoon
series which aired in the '80s) and sleeping (LOL!).
I am a Christian
and look forward to adding some pages regarding my church and it's
activities sometime in the future.
My
RC History
I saw my first RC car in 1988 - it was a Tamiya Hornet that belonged
to my friend. I was fascinated by how fast and how cool it was...
and I had to get one for myself. But as every kid interested in
RC soon discovers, this is not a cheap hobby... and getting a kit
was just beyond me. I was overjoyed when an aunt offered to buy
me a kit for Christmas and thinking that it would be the only car
I would ever have, I picked the most expensive car her budget would
allow - a Tamiya Porshe 959 Rally car. I ran this car against my
friends' off-road buggies but it just wasn't designed for this purpose...
and I thrashed it so bad it now rests in pieces (oops... peace).
Since then,
I've run several different cars, click here
for a quick list of all the cars I've ever owned.
Now, more than
10 years later, I still love RC though as this site suggests, I'm
mainly into monster trucks. I love the challenge of making my own
customized parts.
RC monster trucking
can be a whole lot of fun. Take a look around here and I think you'll
see why!
Keep on TRUCKIN'!!!
