Modification
When I broke
my stock lower front A-arm, I replaced it with OFNA's CNC aluminum
unit.
The arm was
very nicely finished and the blue-anodizing was just nice eye-candy!
I had two problems
when installing the arm:
1) The hingepin
may not fit easily into the easily... if this is the case, use some
fine-grit sand paper to sand the ends of the hingepin (chuck the
pin in a dremel/drill if you have one for this) and you should be
set.
2) The other
problem was that the aftermarket arm did not work well with the
stock knuckles. The problem was that the new arm had a raised area
where the ball is captured (pictured) and this portion would hit
the knuckle and prevent full extension of the arm and full steering.
I tried the aftermarket knuckle which solved the extension problem
but not the steering one.
My solution?
I dremeled the stock knuckle to remove the portion obstructing the
free movement of the parts. Click on the pics and in the larger
version you will see I've circled the portion I am referring to.
The mod worked
perfectly and now I have full extension and steering *WITH* the
added strength of the aluminum arm.

It's important to note that you have to remove material from
the inner edge, rear edge and some from the outer edge.
I've since upgraded
to titanium center braces and these are supposed to be next to indestructable
- but I still run the upper aluminum brace just for that added bit
of assurance. :)
