Phase III

Humm... Humm... Hummer!

Here's a nice hummer shell I spent a few nights masking and painting. The paint scheme is simple but masking all those black lines and details took sometime. This Pro-Line H2 shell has very nice lines, is made of thicker lexan and fits the truck very well. I couldn't bring myself to cut holes in it for airflow though... looks like this is going to be my first display shell
!

New Basher Lid: HPI Dodge RAM Shell

Since the Hummer shell was just too much work to destroy, I purchased this HPI Dodge RAM shell and gave it a simple yet pretty good looking paint scheme to use as a bashing shell - I didn't want to invest too much effort for fear that I would end up baby-ing this shell too. HPI shells are very nice because they are not only designed with aggressive styling, but their paint masks and decals are very complete and of high quality!

No more bent rollbar!

Pics of some new upgrades on the SAVAGE. The first pic shows the New Era rollcage which took me 3 months to get because the order took so long to process - it looks good and sturdy, and time will tell if it will withstand the abuse that crumpled the original rollbar all the time! In the picture you can also see the HPI air filter installed - my original 2-stage filter from Kyosho worked great, but this filter seems to allow even more air into the engine - not just from the sides but from the top as well
.

Check out action pics of the SAVAGE here!

The second pic shows the HOT BODIES engine plate. I didn't quite like the idea of getting this because those fins just look like an excellent place for mud and dirt to get stuck in... but I caved and bought it because it seems this is a high-stress area - I've not only cracked the stock engine plate but also bent the thick metal supports that they rest on. This upgrade looks and feels sturdier.
